This place features a perfect venue for special occasions. Upon entering the restaurant, you'll find an elegant atmosphere. This place features private rooms and fine wines. This restaurant is open late.

OK. Only four stars might seem harsh for a place that most people I know think is "the best fine dining in Houston." And Mark's is very good. But it doesn't live up to all the hype in my opinion. The…

My mother was turning 80 and wanted to go back to Mark's for her celebration. We arrived at Mark's for our 7:30 reservations with great anticipation. Ninety minutes later we left, starved and sadly disappointed as we never had a chance to sit at a table. The worst part of the entire evening was the non-caring attitude of the staff toward all of the different groups waiting to be shown towards our table. There was no compassion or explanation for the long delay. Mark's certainly needs to work on putting the customers first.
